Mrs. Gengenbach is currently in her fourth year as Reading Specialist at Hastings High School.  She holds degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She has previously taught English, Theater, Speech and Reading & Writing Intervention at Grand Island Senior High School and 8th grade Language Arts at Barr Middle School.

Mrs. Gengenbach teaches reading classes, co-teaches with core teachers in English, Communication Arts, Social Studies, and Science.  She coordinates EyeQ--a speed reading program, classroom libraries for 9th and 10th grade study halls, and the summer back pack program.

Her philosophy is "It's okay to judge a book by its cover."  She encourages whatever it takes to draw a reader in!
